Happy New Year!
Literacy New York wishes a Happy New Year to all as we move from a very trying 2020 to a hopeful 2021. We commend the adult learners, tutors, teachers, and program staff who "advanced adult literacy" against all odds this past year.
- Participants completed 708 tutor training workshops on Literacy NY's online Intake to Outcomes (I2O) platform-- 511 since the pandemic hit in March!
- Thousands of hours of remote instruction have been recorded in the NYS Accountability site
- Adult literacy and education leaders have logged 70 plus Zoom meetings with our state legislators, reminding them of the importance of the work we do
And we have great plans for 2021, including updates and additions to our I2O platform, learning disabilities awareness webinars for tutors, a return to face-to-face RAEN professional development activities as soon as it is safe to do so, and more.
Thank you for your interest and support-- and as we move into 2021, we will continue to work to make our vision a reality:
In New York State and beyond, innovative adult literacy programs collaborate to meet the literacy needs of adult students in their communities.
