Provider News: Literacy of Northern New York
Erika Montandon, an engineer from Brazil, first came to Literacy of Northern New York in 2009 as an ESL student who wanted to improve her English language skills. A dedicated student, she attended ESL classes and worked with two tutors. Erika gave back to the program by becoming a math tutor and an ESL tutor. She currently works full-time at the ATTAIN Lab at the library in Watertown, where she helps people learn computer skills. Erika is also active in other organizations including the American Association of University Women, teaches children at her church, and coaches children who compete in the annual Odyssey of the Mind competition.
She is excited to be part of LNNY's Board of Directors and will use her experience to help steer the organization.
