Literacy New York Trainer Corps: Hard at Work
LNY's Trainer Corps delivers Learning to Achieve training for the state of New York through the Regional Adult Education Networks. Learning to Achieve, or L2A, is required training for all first year, paid adult education staff in programs serving adult learners, and centers on equipping adult education practitioners with skills and knowledge to work with struggling adult learners, especially those with learning disabilities (a large portion of our learner cohort, according to available data).
The trainers appreciated time together to talk about specifics of the L2A material and to share "best practices" in presenting this important curriculum. We also spent time building trainer skills, sharing training tips and techniques, learning new material-- and having a lot of fun! This group of professionals devotes tremendous time and energy to their work-- LNY is fortunate to have them.
