Our Work

Literacy New York works to create and strengthen literate communities throughout all of New York State, and has done so for over 40 years.

Most importantly, Literacy New York works to implement sound volunteer and financial management practices, directly building the organizational capacity of community based literacy programs. These local programs, in turn, provide literacy instruction to adults who want to improve their literacy skills.
